I had the RA BDMV sitting on my external for 1.11 and thought I’d do a 720p encode just because, and it’s surprisingly good for only ~800MB. 10-bit, yeah, but it still looks pretty good for even that size (and at only 1100Kbps, CRF 17). I mean, my AVS script wasn’t anything special and I doubt a soft Bicubic downscale would do anything visually, so I’m not sure what’s up. Not that I’m complaining but last time I checked, linear filtering in Bilinear was better than the Mitchell-Netravali two-part cubic at default settings for downscaling. Whatever.
